Shaw Contract proudly sponsor The Interior Design Excellence Awards

Created by inside magazine in 2003, The Interior Design Excellence Awards celebrate the best of Australian interior and product design. Shaw Contract is the proud sponsor of the new ‘Institutional’ category which is launching in 2017.

The high-calibre awards program is now in its 14th year and has continued to grow in scale with 2017 seeing a record number of entries. 253 Australian projects have been shortlisted across 15 categories and two special categories.

Shaw Contract’s Institutional category was open to any interior design projects funded by a public body and/or that are dedicated to public care. Projects suitable for this new category were institutional buildings such as libraries, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, medical centres, aged care facilities, nursing homes, and prisons.

Considerations in judging for this new category included: brief, concept, ability to engage and serve the general public, spatial acumen, parameters, decoration, lighting, sustainability, innovation and originality of design outcome.
