Carpet Recycling |Shaw Contract Group

Carpet Recycling

Our products are completely recyclable and backed by an environmental guarantee. Encouraging others to participate in the shift to safe, sustainable practices and social responsibility in product manufacturing is more than our job – it’s ingrained in our culture. Shaw Contract Group recycles up to 45 million kilograms of carpet annually.

Recycling for Eco Solution Q, Solution Q Extreme and other reclaimed nylon fibre is managed through our portfolio of internal recycling options. Ultimately, this creates a high-purity post-consumer material that can be used in a broad range of applications from carpet to raw materials for other industries.

Recycling for ESQ, SQE and other reclaimed nylon 6 and 6,6 fiber is managed through our portfolio of internal recycling options. The addition of our Evergreen Ringgold recycling facility provides added capacity to manage reclamation and recycling for PET products as well.

Reclaim to Energy (Re2E) |Shaw Contract Group

Reclaim to Energy (Re2E)

Fuelling the reclamation network and our facilities, we turn carpet into energy.

The Shaw Reclaim-to-Energy (Re2E) facility is fuelled by reclaimed carpet materials from both internal manufacturing operations and post-consumer carpet collections.

Re2E converts up to 84 million pounds of reclaimed carpet materials into steam and electricity each year.

In addition to supplying power to our manufacturing operations, Re2E helps fuel the industry reclamation network, providing a solution for reclaimed carpet from other manufacturers, which is unsuitable for processing through our other recycling avenues.

Clearpath |Shaw Contract Group

We turn soda bottles into carpet fibre.

Using PET beverage bottles, Clear Path recycles 160 million pounds annually into carpet fibre.

This saves 1.9 trillion BTUs of energy each year compared to manufacturing solely from virgin materials. That’s enough primary energy to power more than 20,000 homes per year.
